Transitions Signature

Transitions lenses start as clear as an ordinary clear lens indoors and at night but adapt as light conditions change to provide the appropriate level of darkness outdoors. Transitions lenses quickly adjust back to fully clear at night or indoors.

Transitions Signature LogoWhen outdoor light conditions change, so do Transitions lenses. They automatically adjust to provide a comfortable shade that reduces distracting glare but provides clear vision. On cloudy days or early mornings when your patient needs protection from UV rays but not a fully dark lens, Transitions lenses provide an appropriate shade of darkness to give them the comfort and protection they need.

If your patient has ever experienced eye strain or fatigue, or found themselves squinting in the outdoor light, Transitions lenses are an ideal solution.

Transitions lenses are the ideal choice for your patients’ everyday eyewear if:

  • They wear their glasses throughout the day.
  • They want a clear lens indoors.
  • They are looking for the convenience of not switching glasses when they are going indoors and outdoors throughout the day.

Transitions XTRActive

Transitions XTRActive lenses activate using both UV and visible light. They have a slight tint indoors and at night but adapt as light conditions change. They fade back to a slight tint slower than Transitions VII lenses.

Transitions XTRActiveTransitions XTRActive lenses are the darkest photochromic lens available adapting quickly to changing light conditions outdoors in normal and hot temperatures. Even though Transitions XTRActive lenses get extremely dark outdoors, they should not be positioned as “substitute” for sun lenses, especially when the patient spends a lot of time outdoors for certain sports or activities.

Since Transitions XTRActive lenses activate under both UV and visible light they will activate moderately behind the windshield of a car. The activation will depend on factors including the position of the driver in the car. If your patient wears dark sunglasses when driving you may want to recommend sunglasses as a second pair of eyewear.

Transitions XTRActive are ideal for patients’ everyday eyewear if:

  • They spend more time outdoors.
  • They value superior darkness.
  • They like or don’t mind a slight tint indoors.
  • Values some activation in a car.

Drivewear

Drivewear lenses are capable of sensing and reacting to varying light conditions both outside and behind the windshield of the car. From bright sunlight accompanied by intense, blinding glare, to overcast inclement conditions, Drivewear lenses provide the wearer with the appropriate visual solution. Drivewear lenses provide glare protection through polarization and enhance and protect vision through photochromics which respond to both visible and UV light.
